Couples stay together

Life at Freedom for Couples

Making the transition to assisted living involves a range of decisions and can be quite daunting for those moving.

At Freedom, we pride ourselves on helping our community members feel comfortable with their move from an early stage and as at home as possible when they arrive. For some couples, moving together is necessary as they continue to provide companionship, love and support through their life journey together.

That’s why couples stay together at Freedom.  Our model of care means that we look after each person’s needs individually, within the privacy of their Freedom home so they can continue on their life journey with their loved one.  For family members there is added peace of mind that mum and dad shouldn’t need to be separated.

Freedom family members Doug and Jan for instance have been married for 51 years. While they have varying care and support needs, they can continue to live together in their Freedom home.

We provide our residents with the reassurance that the companionship and routine they and their partners are used to won’t need to change when they join Freedom.
