    Freedom Aged Care

Your own home in the heart of it all, right here in Rochedale

Freedom Aged Care at Rochedale is a vibrant, loving community offering you extraordinary levels of lifestyle, companionship and care through every stage of your ageing journey.

Best of all, you can enjoy the privacy and independence of your very own Freedom home - airy, bright and spacious with your own kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, laundry and courtyard. You even have your own front door!

Our Freedom family members can take full advantage of everything  Rochedale has to offer. We encourage our residents to remain active and independent for as long as they are able, and for family and friends to visit often. Nearby, you can soak up that glorious Queensland sunshine while barbequing some snags at the delightful Underwood Park, or purchase some fresh produce from the local Rochedale markets. For an extra special treat you can take the eleven minute drive to visit the Daisy Hill Koala Centre; a large outdoor koala centre and educational facility, where you can learn all about our marsupial mates and get better aquianted with our national treasure.

This isn’t just a place to live. It’s a place to belong, to thrive, to share and to celebrate.

Welcome to our ‘Freedom family’ in the heart of Rochedale.

Care & Support

Our Home Care Community

Freedom Aged Care offers 24-hour personalised care and support for our residents. Our 24/7 aged care team will tailor their care to the needs of our residents.

Freedom Aged Care's ethos is based on encouraging and supporting our residents through a personal understanding of their needs, difficulties and challenges and developing procedures for clinical care based on evidence and best practices.

The care and support we provide at Freedom changes and evolves with you through every stage of the ageing journey, meaning you should never have to move again.

The difference in care that we offer starts before you even move in, with No Means Testing or ACAT required prior to moving into your Freedom home. The whole process is made as easy as possible for our residents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Want to know more, or have a different question? Send us a message and we will be happy to help!

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are welcome at Freedom Aged Care Rochedale and actively encouraged.  Your pet will be assessed when you join Freedom, to ensure they will fit in to the community and thrive as part of the Freedom family.  Read more about our pet-friendly communities here.

Can I have my family and friends visit anytime I want?

Yes! We love having visitors and do not have set visiting hours.  It is your Freedom home, so you can have visitors as you please and they can even stay overnight with you if you wish.

Can I eat dinner in my own home or do I have to go to the dining area?

Meals prepared in our onsite kitchen are optional and most of our Freedom homes have self-contained kitchens so you have the freedom to make your own meals.  For those who have opted in to have meals prepared, we encourage social interaction in our community dining area, but if you don't feel up to it, we can deliver your meal to your door. More about our fresh and nutritious meals here.

Will I be separated from my spouse or partner?

At Freedom, couples stay together. We are totally committed to ensuring couples stay together, regardless of their changing health needs.  Find out more about living at Freedom as a couple here.

What is the difference between Freedom Aged Care and a nursing home?

At Freedom you will have your own private self-contained home, whereas nursing homes are typically in communal buildings, where you have limited privacy and independence.  As a genuine alternative to a nursing home, you will have access to 24-hour aged care that evolves with you through all stages of your journey.  From everyday support for those with minimal care needs (such as assistance with cleaning, nutrition, or social activities), high clinical care, dementia and memory impairment therapy, and palliative care when the time comes.  Balanced with activities, social interaction and entertainment, providing total quality of life for those living there, rather than focusing on only immediate care like most nursing homes.  At Freedom you can continue to live with your spouse and pets and keep your family together, whereas this is not always possible in a nursing home.  More about our home care communities here.

What are the costs?

There is an initial purchase price when you buy your new Freedom home and weekly fees for community services and 24/7 personal care. Weekly services charges and care fees are set at a level that covers Freedom’s costs and no more, and those on the Age Pension can defer a portion of these costs. Residents can also access government-funded care packages that help cover the cost of care, and can be used toward purchasing equipment and consumables.

At the end of your time with Freedom, Freedom keeps a percentage of the resale price of your Freedom home, which is known as a deferred management fee (DMF). The DMF covers the costs involved in providing all the wonderful amenities you enjoy as a resident in your village community. This DMF is set as a percentage of the property’s value when it is sold on to its next resident, with a higher percentage returned to you, or your estate. We encourage all parties relevant to the decision making process to meet with our sales consultants, who will provide a detailed overview of Freedom’s fee structure and answer any questions you may have. We are completely transparent about any costs and if you would like any more information please feel free to call us on 1800 647 813 or enquire here.
