Our vision and promise

More than just a place to live

Paul Browne’s vision is no longer a dream and freedom – precious freedom – is no longer something that’s missing in Australian aged care.

For our residents, it’s like having a second family while they receive all the care and support they need to live as independently as possible. The reasons people come to Freedom are as varied as the lives of those who call the Freedom community ‘home’. Some are here because they can no longer manage and maintain their old family home. Many are couples living in our communities who have low to medium care needs and want to stay together. Some suffer from varying levels of memory loss. Others are here because they found themselves feeling increasingly alone and socially isolated. Some are here simply because they can bring their pets and have their families and loved ones over to stay. Whatever it is that brings people here; Freedom recognises we are all on a different ageing and health journey. At Freedom, it’s a journey made easier and more enjoyable because we are all on it together.

The Freedom difference

At Freedom we don’t just provide care – we genuinely care for you.

Your care commences the very moment you step into Freedom where you will be appointed your own Clinical Case Manager who has already planned a care program specific to your individual needs. An experienced Registered Nurse manages each of our communities with a team of nursing and personal care staff onsite to help you with everyday tasks such as showering, dressing, daily injections, catheter care, oxygen therapy, wound and skin care and remembering to take your medications. Also onsite is a team of Lifestyle Coordinators or Diversional Therapists who specialise in programs and activities that contribute to your wellbeing.

We are also connected with local GPs, pharmacies, mobility aids specialists and allied health professionals to bring you the best-value community care. Should your health needs ever change, we’ll simply increase your level of care in the privacy of your Freedom home. And as your ageing journey advances, you can have peace of mind knowing we’ll be right there, supporting you and your family through every stage including dementia and palliative care.

Meet Wally

I have lived here for 3 years and for my 100th birthday I happened to mention that I wanted to go in a plane and I was shocked that Freedom organised all of this.
